The Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) presented this year’s prestigious Most Business-Friendly City Award to the City of Long Beach at the Eddy Awards® on November 8. Mayor Rex Richardson accepted the award on behalf of the City and all our partners.

“This award reflects Long Beach’s dedication and support in creating a strong, supportive, and inclusive environment for businesses who call Long Beach home,” said Mayor Rex Richardson. “We are committed to growing our local economy, advancing a culture of ease, speed, and predictability, and creating opportunities for all to thrive here in Long Beach.”

The Eddy Awards is a distinguished gala event, encompassing a reception followed by a dinner, organized in support of LAEDC’s mission for reimagined Los Angeles regional economy – growing, equitable, sustainable, and resilient – that provides a healthy and high standard of living for all.  Each year, more than 600 of the region’s leading business, government, civic, and education leaders attend this annual event.

“This award recognizes the high level of service the City provides to local businesses, entrepreneurs, and investors.” Economic Development Director, Bo Martinez said. “Economic Development programs provide technical assistance, access to capital, business activation, and the BizCare hotline to help entrepreneurs navigate City systems and resources. We are here to roll out the red carpet, not the red tape.”
