Elevate ’28: Mayor Rex Richardson’s Vision for a Global Long Beach Highlighted in LA Business Journal

LA County to expand public transit options for 2028 Olympics

The Long Beach Economic Partnership is proud to support the transformative vision of Mayor Rex Richardson as he prepares our city for the world stage. A recent feature in the Los Angeles Business Journal highlights the significant strides Long Beach is making as a premier 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games host city.

Under Mayor Richardson’s leadership, the city is implementing the LA28 capital plan, a $1.1 billion investment over five years into roads, parks, and public facilities. As the Mayor noted in the interview, this strategy is a “smart and responsible bet” that leverages the Games to improve existing infrastructure for a lasting community legacy.

At LBEP, we share the Mayor’s commitment to maximizing the economic impact for our local small businesses, hotels, and restaurants. We are dedicated to ensuring that the global spotlight of 2028 results in a sustained economic legacy for all of Long Beach.
